O₂ MEASUREMENT ON COMPOSTING PLANTS

O₂ MEASUREMENT ON COMPOSTING PLANTS

Composting is the biological maturation of organic matter, which recycles organic waste to produce fertiliser. In composting plants, the time and conditions of natural decomposition are accelerated and monitored through continuous control of key parameters, in compliance with environmental regulations.

Oxygen is essential for an optimal process and is closely related to microorganism activity. The zirconium oxide probe ZO2-3I-C060, used in composting tunnels, measures oxygen in the recirculating air circuit to ensure adequate oxygenation. Integrated electronics and a condensate discharge cylinder acting as a stilling chamber separate condensate before measurement and ensure the right amount of air reaches the sensor.
